Prenatal Childbirth Education - Beautiful Beginning, About the Instructor

Donna is a peri-natal nurse with 15 years labour and delivery experience. She has worked as an obstetrical nurse in five different hospitals, some small and rural, and others, large teaching hospitals. She has experience in ante-natal, post-partum, nursery and birthing unit hospital nursing. She has also worked in an outpatient pre-natal clinic and as a second attendant with midwives. She has been involved in hospital based pre-natal education as well as independent classes in

Barrie, Ontario.

Her kind and gentle manner, passion for the birthing process, extensive experience and broad knowledge base make her an excellent childbirth educator.

When Donna and her husband moved to Kingston, Donna fulfilled a long-time dream of teaching her own pre-natal classes and developing curriculum using the best of the best that she has gleaned through experience, research and education. The classes began in January 2006. The response has been overwhelmingly positive. When Donna is not teaching, she is providing labour support to women in the role of doula, working on continuing education to ensure quality and excellence at Beautiful Beginning and caring for her four-year-old son and two teenage daughters.

She is the mother of three beautiful children and has experienced giving birth in a hospital and at home. She is familiar first hand with having medications in labour and birthing naturally and will be supportive of whatever type of labour you hope to have. Click here to view more
